Letting your child be...well who he is!

This represents so much of who Jack is...a builder, creator or many wonderful things. Lately he has been designing his own lego and hoping to create this at home.

What I have learned again (I am always learning) is simply that Jack is his own person with unque gifts that God has designed just for HIS glory! Like this lego, the design had a purpose. Jack created this and God enabled Jack to be this creative person.

What I love about homeschooling is that when I do stop to allow mornings to be lego mornings and outdoor play he is full of JOY! Don't get me wrong, fractions are there to digest as well...but I love the balance and the lack of stress to allow him to be free to be who he is!

Aah Jack, I love ya!!!!

Looking through his eyes....

When you take the time to look through his eyes the world turns a different colour. I see things that I missed. I notice things of a unique colour. I open my eyes to his world. That is when you can hold the heart of your child and say I love you in a precious way.

Aah the  memories of warmth together.

precious girls...I think one of my fav pics ever of the girls together!

She grew up on this trip...I watched and marveled at how God is changing her into a beautiful young woman!

She could have slept on the lounge chair on the beach. So... we brought the cushion inside and put it by our bed! She was happy....

We met Sean the dolphin and wow what can I say...he was beautiful....

Oh Jack the playful one just soaking up the sun and water!

Sara taking time to discover the beach

We loved our time away and so thankful for our amazing time away together!

Simply remembering moments...

I remember when she held her sister and would just stare with love abounding.
I remember that purple, cotton dress and the multi-coloured scrunchie in her hair that matches a gymnastics suit Sara wears to her class now!
I remember the feel of the velvety soft blanket Katie was wrapped in that day.
I remember the smooth, tender skin when I kissed her cheek..
I just remember and am thankful.

Oh, and I remember Spring, somehow I do!

I remember to stand strong when I feel weak.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...I can do all things IN Christ!

When I hold Sam, I remember when I gave her twin baby dolls and she naturally held and hugged them both and cared for them as I see her caring now for her sisters.

Today I remember moments and I am just thankful.

Serving

One year ago (almost) we found a precious place filled with smiles and glorious songs radiating from beautiful children.
A place called paradise to visitors perhaps but to these ones, precious ones, it is home but with many trials and perhaps lost hope.

We were able to stand with them and in a small way, serve them.

You know me, the weeper...I could hardly take it all in....

I wanted to hold them all and tell them they are so beautiful and loved by a God that created them...

Even though is was simple, it brought big smiles and changed hearts, changed mine.

Soon we will visit them again! I can't wait! God use us...

To have and to hold

His precious daughter at his side, a flurry of emotion

Curls and bobby pins, hair spray and careful attention to detail, all for the celebration of love!

The lace adorned with detail that lined her veil and her dress, all intentionally chosen to wow the groom

petals tossed with grace and sweet smirk from our very own flower girl - Sara Glo

Those in attendance yet again have to privilege of witnessing a union blessed by God, a covenant before man and God all to His glory

The commitment to love and adore as long as they both shall live

The moment they had been waiting for, man and wife for the firs time.

You know what I love? That the entire ceremony pointed to the one who created them, who gave them one another, the God who sent his son for us!

To you Marjolaine and Sope, we love you and celebrate this new adventure in your lives.
You are dear to us

Day 28: Journey of days

I walk in places that seem as though tunnel vision impacted my convictions

I have traversed the wide open spaces that have filled my soul with immense peace

I have viewed the spectacular, and stood in awe of the miraculous

I have sat back and soaked in creation and simply taken a moment

I have cast my dreams, visions to the one who gave them to me...

I think of many moments in my life and the days I that have documented through my 28 days in February and thankful for my days...

Day 27: Tools

Tomorrow he embarks on a new journey - turning thirteen. Amazed at what he has done and will continue to do I consider posts like this such a blessing because I can celebrate him right now, today. I don't want to wait...

He glides through so many circumstances because he has a calm and caring nature

Adventurous

Nature loving and outdoorsy kind of guy!

Loves animals and cares for them with tenderness

Works hard to discover new things

New discoveries with his best friend. I am so thankful for a camera to remember these moments

Sports make his world an exciting place, also a place of learning, growing, success and failures

Doesn't every man think he is superman?

Loves playing in the water and invites his sisters to join in

The Jack smile

What would we do without a trampoline? Seriously, no idea...

The best cottage moment ever!

Always seeking something, there is always something to be found!

When did he grow up?

Yup, a precious boy - a gentle soul

This seems like far too many years ago

Knee boarding (makes my knees hurt just thinking about it) is a fav. He is so calm when he is out there, like his Daddio a happy place to be~!

The toolbox

Jack will receive his own toolbox tomorrow, Yes real tools! But I have asked special family in his life to leave him tools of wisdom via words to add to this toolbox. He will open a hammer and also open life giving words that will give him perspective and hopefully stay in his heart as he continues to mature in his faith journey. Biblical insight and wonderful wise words are on the way.

Here is one I received today - made me cry

Your Character!

Your character is what God knows you to be.

Your reputation is what people think you are.

Character is what you are in the dark

You can sell out Character but you can't purchase it.

What you are tomorrow, you are becoming today.

The test of your character is what you would do if you knew no one would ever know.

words anonymous sent to Jack from a special member of our family

Happy Birthday Jack - we love you!
